Paul Schwer

Born in 1951, lives and works in Düsseldorf

Exhibitions worldwide in galleries and museums

Paul Schwer is a painter. In 1988 he finished his studies at the Düsseldorf Art Academy as a master student of Erwin Heerich. After many international exhibitions his works with light and transparent matters like (Plexi) glass and polyester are represented in many public and private collections.

His unmistakable technique to forge very inimitably the painted and printed acrylic plains under great heat develops unique, color-intensive objects, seemingly between painting and sculpture. The applied heat changes even the before imprinted paint, builds small cracks and patterns, animating the surface. The process of developing and evolving is detectable in the work and has an important role, as well as his gambling with hazard.

The finally born individually formed objects recline in the room, the powerful presence of a colour-body, and invite us to find a relationship.
